Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Family Support Links
At North Waltham Primary School, we are a happy, inclusive village school where every child is supported to thrive. We offer a nurturing, high-quality learning environment where all pupils, including those with SEND, are valued and encouraged to reach their potential.
Our personalised approach is built on strong relationships, high expectations, and close collaboration with families and professionals. By creating a safe and supportive setting, we help children grow in confidence and develop the skills they need for the future. At North Waltham, every child matters.
As highlighted in our most recent Ofsted report (September 2021):
"Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive skilled support, including carefully matched learning activities and extra help, so they make strong progress."
We believe that working in partnership with parents and carers is essential to supporting every child’s success.
If you have any concerns about your child’s progress, please do not wait - raise them with the class teacher as soon as they arise and access the 'Helpful Links' information below. Early communication helps us to work together more effectively to identify needs and put the right support in place.
Further details of our SEND provision can be found here:
Our SEND provision is guided by the SEND Code of Practice (2014). The following guide explains how the system that supports children and young people with special educational needs and disability (SEND) works: Special educational needs and disabilities: a guide for parents and carers.
Our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) at North Waltham is Mrs Chalkley. If you wish to get in touch with Mrs Chalkley, please contact the admin team on 01256 397344 or adminoffice@northwaltham.hants.sch.uk
Ordinarily Available Provision
The document below outlines the provision that is ordinarily available across all classrooms for all learners. This is demonstrated by the blue and green segements in Diagram 1. If this provision is not providing sufficient support to enable progress, then further investigation in relation to SEND support may be required.
