Hot meals - Aspens

From September 2025, our school kitchen will be taken over by Aspens.  Please find information by clicking these links from Aspens:

Packed lunch from home

If your child does not want the school lunches on offer that day, then please send them in with a packed lunch in a named lunch box.

It is important that packed lunches do not contain nuts or any items with nuts in.  This includes nutella, nut chocolate spreads, crepes with nut spreads, peanut butter, cereal bars containing nuts, cakes containing nuts and many more.

Is my child entitled to a free school meal?

All pupils in Year R, 1 and 2 are entitled to receive a free school meal each day under the government's Universal Infant Free School Meal programme (UFSM).

Pupils in Year 3-6 will be required to pay for school meals, in advance of eating the meal, via the child's Arbor account.  Meals currently cost £3.20 per day (as at July 2025)

Families on low incomes can apply for Free School Meals (FSM).  We advise parents to make the application in Year R and again at any time you have a change in income. Children in receipt of means tested Free School Meals (FSM) in Years 3-6 will still receive a free lunch.

IMPORTANT: If you are in receipt of certain benefits, the school may qualify for extra funding to support your child's learning.  Please see the section below for information on how to apply and Pupil Premium Funding

Free school meals beyond year 2 may only be available only to children whose parents/guardians are in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:

It is important to apply for free school meals even if your child is in Year R, 1 or 2. This is because the school will receive extra funding to support your child/children. There is an online service, where you can check your own eligibility for free school meals beyond Year 2, or you can check on behalf of someone else.  It is quick and easy to do.  To complete the check, you will need the following information for yourself, or the person you are checking on behalf of:

  • Name, home address and email address
  • National Insurance Number or National Asylum Support Service reference number
  • Child’s name, date of birth and school
