JRSOs
JRSO stands for: Junior Road Safety Officer.
We have two JRSOs who have received training.
North Waltham has a very active travel team consisting of pupils, staff, parents, governors and friends. As part of the school travel plan, the team work hard to encourage families and staff to adapt healthy modes of transport to school- in particular walking, cycling or scooting to school wherever possible. To support this, the school provides bike and scooter storage for use during the school day. The JRSOs help plan and deliver a variety of fun activities throughout the year to promote road safety and sustainable travel initiatives. All events are publicised through regular school assemblies or on the JRSO noticeboard.
Events have included:
Walk to school week.
Scooter training.
Be bright be seen week.
Share a driveway scheme.
Bikeability.
